Tuesday Shoes – Springtime pumps with a sporty sole

Some items have been gifted

My spring essentials are pumps. I’ve lived in my tan brogue boots and my hiking trainers all winter but now that the weather is warming up and the clocks have gone forward I’m confident that it’s time to switch over to springtime shoes. So that’s what I’m talking about in today’s Tuesday Shoesday blog post, plus I’m giving you the opportunity to win ANY pair shoes from StriveFootwear.com in my giveaway so read on to find out how to enter this fab giveaway..!Now it’s not yet time for summer sandals, but my usual boots are too heavy for this transitional season; what I really need is a pair of pumps. I usually live in flats throughout the spring and summer, so over the past few years I’ve got through countless pairs. You know the type; cheap, flimsy and prone to holes! Okay, I haven’t spent much money on these budget shoes (thank goodness, because I’m getting through the like a packet of biscuits) but ideally I’d like a pair to last me a season and save me the effort of taking regular trips to the shops. After wearing Strive trainers in my day-to-day life, I concluded that the brand might be the solution for my spring/summer pumps too. I knew they make comfy sandals but I hadn’t ever investigated their shoe collection. Thankfully, the brand didn’t disappoint and I managed to find a pair of Hampton flats in the new season collection.

Go-with-everything navy blue colour? Check! Classy ballerina style? Yes! Comfortable? Absolutely! I love the styling of these shoes; even though they’re a little sturdier than the pumps I usually buy (let’s not forget, my previous choices always fall apart) they are not at all clumpy. They’re sleek, cool and ready for my summer strolls along the promenade. They’re not only pretty pumps: they’re practical too. The sole is a sporty rubber, that you can just tell is going to last a long time. It’s got great grip, which is just what you want when you get caught in the April showers! And if that wasn’t enough, the insole offers Strive’s signature biomechanical support. The footbed technology is curved to fit around the contours of your foot. It makes for a much more comfortable wearing experience and even helps to aid you in finding the perfect ache-free posture. Something I’m still working on but that I definitely want to improve.I know that some of the brands I choose to buy aren’t cheap (which might seem unusual for a thrifty blogger) but I think it’s better to buy one quality item that you can wear time and again rather than a throwaway pair of shoes. Like I said, I was binning a pair of £10 pumps every couple of weeks last year because they just couldn’t keep up with the amount of walking I do. So is it more thrifty to buy one pair that will last me years or about 8 pairs of cheapy pumps that end up in the bin? I know which way I prefer to go. And the improved comfort factor is an added bonus!

Now here’s your chance to bag a pair of Strive shoes, sandals or trainers for yourself in my giveaway. I buttered up the lovely folk at StriveFootwear.com and they were delighted to provide a special prize for my lovely audience. One lucky reader will be able to browse the Strive website and choose ANY pair they like. 1. I’ve just bought some gladiator sandals ready for the warmer weather – I’m hoping that they’ll be comfortable!

  2. I love wearing sandals in the summer, especially my faithful pair of Birkenstocks! For work I am on my feet for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, which involves running up and down 5 flights of stairs umpteen times a day, so I am always on the look-out for a really stylish but comfortable pair of shoes.

  3. I’ll hopefully be wearing a pair of Strive Hampton flats After reading your blog I will definitely be checking out their website.

  10. Sandals if or when weather allows. Like to try to get footwear which is comfortable, practical, supportive ( good supportive sole etc) as we need to take care of our feet. Or unfortunately we bear the consequences.

I would like to see a positive link between NHS ( National Health Service) Podiatry / Chiropody, Orthopedics and shoe shops and manufacturers in regards to healthy foodwear. As damage to feet can be costly for individual, Community, NHS etc. Maybe the Government should take action through Health Promotion :- Information Campaigns etc.

I also tend to wear training shoes etc over Spring / Summer as they tend to be comfortable and practical.
