It’s all about him: Pamper your groom before the big day

It takes two to tango and, even though popular media certainly seems to think that only the bride is getting married, it’s important to make your man feel special before the big day.

In fact, pampering the groom is so unconventional today that anything remotely related to weddings and relaxation is exclusively about the bride; how did it get to this? You can’t blame a guy for feeling slightly left out in the midst of all the pastel coloured dresses, bridesmaid celebrations and manicure sessions.

Believe it or not; decorative planning, DIY wedding invitations, and trips to the spa can be just as much fun for the groom as for the bride. That weddings are the girl’s ‘big day’ and that the groom should just accept his role in the background is an outdated way of thinking – and a skewed way of starting your life together. It should be a team effort so why not embark on this seemingly unexplored path of making your groom feel special and pampered before the big day?

Suit up

His handsome figure admiring himself in the long mirror, checking out the sleeves, straightening out the collar. Don’t fool yourself for a second by thinking he doesn’t mind what type of suit he’s treated to and that wedding outfits are exclusively about your dress.  Just like you would prefer not to rent a wedding dress for the occasion, however sensible and frugal it might seem, he would also prefer to own a tailored designer suit. It makes no sense at all that he should spend vast amounts on suits to an office job, but when it comes to the one and, hopefully, only wedding day of his life, he should settle for less. Have a look at these eye-popping wedding suits to admire your future husband in. Men enjoy the feeling of being pampered and want to look good, so when you’re searching for wedding rings and cufflinks check the men’s collections from jewellers such as frost nyc to make sure he feels like a true king on your big day; he deserves it, doesn’t he?

Spa and groom him

Any man who says he hates the feeling of a luxurious facial mask, the perfect pressure of a relaxing massage, and the aromatic fragrances surrounding him as he closes his eyes, is a fibber! Book a spa session for the two of you together; a couple’s’ massage and a steam shower is an ideal surprise a day or two before the wedding.

How about treating him to an hour at the barbers for a proper old-school pampering with a hint of manliness to it. Most men today have never been to one of those real barber shops and might associate it with their grandparents, the smell of coffee and cigars hanging in the but it’s a very luxurious experience these days. Plus, he’ll get to chat with the barber about how excited he is to marry such a wonderful woman as you (of course!) and can take his best man with him for a once-over too. I think he’ll enjoy the pampering as much as you do when you have your make-up done before the wedding and you’ll both look your absolute best on the big day.
