Just a little something I made for Halloween…

Things have been very busy at www.TutusWingsandPrettyThings.com HQ and I’ve been stitching away in my workshop this week making lots of dark fairy tutus ready for Halloween. I’ve made similar tutus for hen parties over the summer and I thought that they would look great for Halloween too, so I’ve been making extra-sparkly tutus with lots of sequined and glittery fabric woven in-between the spiky tulle strands. I think that my favourite one is this blue tutu below, which has bright blue glittery stars fabric incorporated into the design.

Let me know if you’d like something similar custom-made for your Halloween costume by emailing cassie@cassiefairy.co.uk – these tutus aren’t on the website yet but I will happily make these or something similar (any colours you like!) for you, just let me know with plenty of time, because I’m already getting pretty booked up with spooky orders for zombie bride and witch costumes!

Hen party series ~ Some more costume ideas for the hens

Welcome back to my hen party series! Over the summer, blogger Claire from Lacey in Places  blog has been sharing her top tips for planning a hen party (read her first article here), including a downloadable budget spreadsheet and invitation templates (read this planning article here) to make it super-easy to keep track of the hens, the accommodation and activities costs. She has also written about making DIY crafty decorations for the hen party and creating a DIY memory book for the bride . There are lots of useful articles in the hen party series, so check out the links below or click here to see all of the articles in the series.

Today I am sharing a few photos of the lovely hen party tutus that I’ve made during the summer through my fancy dress business www.TutusWingsandPrettyThings.com and I hope to be able to inspire you to create your own hen party costumes!

These are just some of the pretty custom-made tutus that my lovely bride customers have been requesting over the summer hen-party season. I love the purple-and-white theme which incorporates lots of sparkles and sequins! On my website www.TutusWingsandPrettyThings.com you can design your own fairy tutu for the bride and for all the hens, with any colours and fabrics that you like . Tie it in with a fancy dress theme, or create something to match your hen-night t-shirts – simply get in touch with your requirements and your tutus will be custom-made for you and your hens at no extra cost!

Next week, we’ll be discussing hen party fashion looks that you can wear again and again – not just for the hen do! So come back soon and check out the articles below for more hen party inspirations :)

Here’s what I’ve been making this week…

I recently had an order for a custom-made adult tutu in forest green and black colours. I was so pleased to make this, because it was something a little different from usual – this tutu skirt has ‘petals’ all the way around it which makes it look even more like a woodland ‘fairy’ costume. The tutu has the 2 coloured layers on the top and two black layers below, which I love and I think I’m going to make a few more like this is different colour combinations and might even add the petals range to my shop website in the future.

Shopping on the last weekend of the January sales

Throughout the country the January sales are drawing to a close. The bargains have gone and the final FINAL reductions have happened, so there probably is not much left that you’d want – although if you make the journey out into the snow to have a look at the remaining sale items, you’ll probably find that there are some real bargains to be had.  And the good news is that you don’t even have to leave the house to check out what is left in the sales if you like to shop online. I’m going to have a good look at what’s left in the Apricot online sale (especially seeing as I love my dress from the sale so much), and there are last-minute discounts to be found at the clothing departments in the supermarkets.

And don’t forget that the www.TutusWingsandPrettyThings.com online sale is still going on to the 31st of January, and while stocks last you can get custom-made costumes and hand-made fairy tutus for children at £5.99 and adults at £7.49 – the lowest price that these pretty petticoats will be all year!! Please have a look at grab yourself a bargain while they are still available :D
