Recipe – Gooey Chewy Oaty Biscuits & a cup of tea!

These lovely oaty cookies are super-easy to make and really yummy for a tea-break treat.

Melt together 175g of butter with 2 tablespoons of golden syrup in a saucepan and then add 75g porridge oats, 175g self-raising flour and 175g brown sugar. Mix it all together into a thick batter and dollop onto a lined baking tray into cookie-size blobs and pop half a glacé cherry on top. Cook in the oven at 180°C/350°F until golden – keep an eye on them!

I also made this recipe as a tray-bake, which were great for dunking in a cuppa but I think they would benefit from some sultanas mixed in too! Let me know how you get on if you give the recipe a try 🙂
