Tuesday Shoesday – Footwear trends at the Oscars 2013

Sunday night saw superstars from stage, screen and song flocking to the red carpet to attend the 85th Oscars ceremony in Hollywood. The industry awards show was hosted by Seth MacFarlane and showcased the best of film production from around the world, with Argo scooping the top prize for Best Picture and Ang Lee got the award for Best Director for the film Life of Pi. And really we were all watching to see how British favourite Adele performed and we were delighted when she was handed the Oscar for Best Original Song for Skyfall.

Of course, my attention was mostly focussed on the red carpet and what the ladies were wearing. The traditional Oscars fashion uniform tends to consist of sweeping floor-length gowns and as such I hardly ever get to peek at what the stars are slipping onto their feet. But I did spot a few designer heels strutting about!

Let me know what you think – will you be recreating your favourite red carpet look at home? did you stay up to watch the Oscars on Sunday? Which celebs do you think made a fashion faux pas? Please leave me a comment below 🙂
