Spring fashion – Style Icon Challenge

Some items have been gifted

For my Style Icon Challenge this Spring I chose Holly Willoughby. I’ve always loved her classic girly style and could easily picture myself in any of the cute tea dresses she wears so it was an obvious choice for me.

I am a huge fan of floral patterns, especially as we head into summer, so shopping on Boohoo.com to pick out the cutest Holly-inspired dresses was great fun. There were plenty of pretty patterned options in the ‘New In’ section and I deliberated over a shortlist of 6 dresses – wrap, sleeveless, bodycon and bardot style –  in a variety of summery shades, before making my final choices.

Firstly, I chose this Dahlia floral dress with sweetheart neckline. For a skater dress this skirt is very full and flares out massively so it just makes you want to twirl! I’ve seen Holly wearing similar floral patterns on This Morning last year so this dress was the obvious choice to steal her style.

Holly regularly wears opaque tights with her dresses so I teamed this dress with a pair of black tights and yellow retro dolly shoes with a very high heel to try to get some of her height too! Holly’s signature necklace is a gold charm on a single chain, so I copied her look with this gold jewellery.

My second choice was this cute polka dot ‘Kerrie’ shift dress. I’d seen Holly wearing a lot of polka dots over the past year and it’s a classic pattern so I thought I would give it a go.

The pockets make this dress look casual and summery but it could be teamed with tights and a cardi for winter too. I wore it with my vintage grey low heels to make the outfit look even more ‘Holly’ but it would be equally cute without tights and a pair of pumps for summer.

I love these dresses and I think that the floral outfit is ideal for the weddings that I’ve been invited to this summer – I hope Holly would approve of my choices! I was really pleased with the fit and quality of these dresses and I’ve already got my eye on some other styles for summer – roll on payday!boohoo dresses-12
