5 Tips to make your next move more simple

Moving to a new location can be a hectic process if not planned well.  To help make the experience more pleasant, here are 5 tips that can help you out…

CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS ONLINE

One of the best ways to make sure your move goes without a hitch is to change your address to the one that you intend to use. This ensures that all of your post is redirected to your new home and you can contact the companies/people involved to update them with your new address. It’s surprising how many redirected items arrive over the coming months! When you change address online this will make the whole move easier, especially when you have to move on short notice, and you need all your essential bills and statements to come to your new address.

START THE PROCESS EARLY

For you to have it easy time when moving, start early. Pack away all the small but essential stuff a few days or weeks before D-Day.  Doing this makes the whole process much easier since you won’t forget essential documents that might easily get misplaced on the day you plan to move the rest of your stuff.  Besides, when you start the process early, you will avoid incidences of items breaking that usually happens with last-minute moving, as you’ll have time to wrap and pack them well.

HIRE A PROFESSIONAL MOVER

One of the best ways to make moving simple is to hire a professional mover. While it might sound cost-effective to put everything in your truck and do it yourself, that be quite a complicated process. That’s because in the moving process you might end up breaking stuff since you aren’t skilled on how to do it. That’s why it is way more simple and cost-effective to engage the services of a professional company.

SELL OR GIVE AWAY UNNECESSARY STUFF

We all have stuff in our houses that we don’t need. However, getting rid of them is usually difficult since over time, we develop an attachment.  Unfortunately, such junk stuff can make moving difficult especially when packing. That’s why, to ensure that your next move is simple and cost-effective, get rid of such stuff either by selling it, or giving it away.  You will be surprised at how much unnecessary stuff you have that only serves to increase your cost of moving in terms of boxes and transport, and slows you down as well.

CLEAN UP YOUR NEW HOME BEFORE YOU MOVE

Nothing is more difficult than trying to fully clean a house that is full of stuff in it, especially furniture. That’s why to make moving simple and pleasant, ensure that you do a thorough clean-up of your new house way before you move. Pack a separate box of cleaning products, tools and the vacuum. It will give you a great feel moving to your new house when it is all clean and fresh. Besides, this makes it easier to arrange the new house and make it look great.
