If you’ve slightly outgrown chocolate advent calendars (I mean, it could happen…) these are the alternatives for you.  Make the count down to Christmas fun and bloomin’ delicious at the same time. These two calendars are just made to be opened first thing in the morning so you definitely won’t loose keep track of the date this December…

This year I’ve chosen some slightly different advent calendars to our usual selection. I’ve found myself leaving the chocolates in past years and forgetting to light that advent candle each day. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy counting down the days to Santa’s visit. So what are the alternatives, I hear you ask? Well these two calendars won’t be forgotten, because they’re an essential part of your morning ritual.

COFFEE CALENDAR

If you’re a fan of coffee and you have a lovely Nespresso machine on your worktop waiting to be used, this coffee calendar from Prezzybox is for you. Behind each door is a delicious coffee pod to be enjoyed with your breakfast. It’s the coffee-lovers dream! Plus, if you take it with you on your commute, it’s saving you money on buying your regular cuppa from the coffee shop.

Not only do you get 25 pods to treat yourself with every day, you can also personalise the calendar with a name. So there will be no doubt about who is allowed to open the calendar and, if you’re a coffee-loving couple, you can have one calendar each. The pods are compatible with Nespresso machines  so you can enjoy an aromatic coffee every morning in the run up to Christmas – and start your day the right way!

TEA CALENDAR

For those of you who prefer something a little more herbal, the Pukka Christmas calendar is perfect for you. The calendar unfolds to hang on the wall and contains 24 teas in a variety of flavours. As you can see, I’ve already got a Pukka travel mug, so you can probably tell I’m a fan! My favourite Mint Refresh and Original Chai teas are amongst a host of other fruity and spiced varieties. It’s a great way to try out some new flavours without committing to buy a whole box and you can make a note of your favourites to add to your shopping list for the new year. I love the fact that these teas are caffeine-free and made with 100% organically grown, ethically sourced ingredients. Plus, the calendar smells amazing!

So what do you think of the advent calendars I’ve chosen for myself and my husband this year? Wouldn’t they make a great festive gift for tea or coffee lovers? And (if you’re anything like me and the first thing you do in the morning is make a cuppa) you definitely wouldn’t forget to open your advent calendar, would you?! What advent calendar are you planning to buy? Would you rather have a tea or coffee in the morning than chocolate? Let me know in the comments below. And roll on December 1st!
