If you’ve ever considered not drinking, there are countless reasons why you should pursue this goal in 2019 – no more hangovers, for a start! Here are 6 ways that quitting drinking makes you more attractive than before…

LOSING WEIGHT BECOMES A BREEZE

Alcohol isn’t diet-friendly. From beer to spiced rum, each serving of alcohol has a lot of calories. One shot alone might have as many calories as a serving of cream. Consuming as much as three or four drinks a night is comparable to a fast-food meal! By quitting drinking, losing weight is much easier. Take away those sugars, and the body resorts to burning fat.
In fact, if you only make a change to your drinking habits, without any other dieting, you’ll start to see the pounds fall off.

HYDRATED SKIN

Alcohol is a diuretic so it forces water out of your skin tissue. The skin therefore doesn’t have any bounce to it so it’ll look saggier and more drab after a drink. Removing the alcohol from your daily habits allows water to remain in your tissue and you’ll probably be drinking more water if you’re swapping alcohol for soft drinks. The skin will achieve a balance that gives you that enviable youthful glow and people might start to comment on your good-looking skin. It may not be obvious to you, but others will see the glow as a positive sign of your good health.

LESS TIRED AND DEPRESSED

Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol can lead to depression. Alcohol is a depressant itself and you don’t want to travel too far down this depressive route. Your mood can become irritable with a negative vibe, and this attitude will make you seem unattractive. Regular drinking also adds to your exhaustion level. A tired person doesn’t look attractive; drooping eyes, yawning and tired skin contribute to an unhealthy appearance. Sobriety pulls you out from an exhausted and depressive state, and you’ll see the difference in the mirror.

DEEP SLEEP

If you’ve been drinking, typically you won’t sleep very well. You may wake up rather abruptly after the body sobers up during sleep, and then hits you with a burst of energy in the middle of the night. If you don’t sleep well, your appearance suffers and you might end up with dark circles under your eyes. Remove alcohol from your evenings so that you can rest well. The extra sleep will leave you looking younger and more beautiful.

LESS BLOATING

When your body feels dehydrated after heavily drinking one night, it tries to retain as much moisture as possible. The dehydrated skin might bloat in certain areas as your body tried to retain water. It’s simply your body making an alteration in order to achieve a balanced system once again. It’s usually isolated to specific areas, such as the eyes, stomach or feet. With alcohol out of the picture, your face and body will look decidedly different and be free from bloating.

SLOW DOWN AGEING

The sugars in alcohol contribute to ageing because they bind with the body’s tissues. Over time, the sugars break down the proteins that make up your youthful skin. When you stop drinking, it seems like ageing stops or even reverses. Wrinkles aren’t as prevalent anymore thanks to your well-hydrated skin.
