Father’s Day is just around the corner on the 16th June so I thought I’d put together a gift guide of slightly different presents for dad that you might not have though of before, including sweet treats, personalised goodies and on trend tech…

HOME BREW

Give dad a project to enjoy over the coming months with a beer making kit. It allows dad to make 7 pints of his favourite beer at home so that he can proudly share a pint with his pals. You can get kits to suit all tastes such as a New England IPA or Dutch brew. This Brewdog brewing kit would be ideal for my husband as he already chooses the Punk IPA when we go to the pub and I’m sure he’ll get greater satisfaction from brewing his own beer than just opening a can!

COLOGNE

But not just any cologne – solid cologne. This handy tin can be taken out with dad so that he can easily freshen up at work or on an evening out. And it’s great for maximising space in your suitcase when travelling. The tin and design is vintage in style, but the concept of solid cologne is very contemporary. The highly concentrated fragrance can be applied directly on to the skin after warming it on your fingertips and it’s made with natural ingredients and oils, such a jojoba and shea butter, so it helps to keep dad’s skin hydrated, soft and protected too.

COFFEE KING

If your dad is a fan of coffee (and to be honest, who isn’t?) an espresso maker set could be the ideal gift for him. This sleek stainless steel design with heat resistant handle comes with 6 glass cups so that he can impress guests around the dinner table with a steaming cup of fresh coffee. This gift-boxed kit is £19.99 but there are classic stove-top espresso makers on the VonShef website starting at £9.99 – bargain!

UNWRAP SOME TECH

For the dad who loves music, a bluetooth speaker will help him get those tracks off his smartphone and enjoy his favourite playlists in his office or the kitchen. Go for a compact size so that he can easily take it with him from room to room – this lightweight pocket bluetooth speaker is made from walnut wood and has the volume and depth of a traditional speaker, at a fraction of the size.

MAKE A NOTE

This is the ideal gift for the man who has everything. Let’s face it, even if he already has a notebook, he’ll need another when that one is filled up so this won’t go to waste. Even though a Moleskine notebook is a luxurious gift at the best of times, this one from Pen Heaven can be personalised with dad’s initials or a message on the front cover. You can choose from gold, silver or blind embossing and add any name or message that fits within the word-count. This turns a rather swish Moleskine notebook gift set with a classic Parker pen into something unique that you’ve chosen just for dad.

SWEET TREATS

It’s an oldie but a goodie as no dad can resist a sweet treat on Father’s Day! This idea however, is even better. You can show your dad that he’s your hero with a tub of Cadbury Heroes chocolates PLUS you can personalise the lid with a message for your dad. This is not only great for Father’s Day but for birthdays, graduations and any other occasion where a personalised box of chocs would go down well – perhaps a ‘thank you’ gift for teachers, carers and helpful friends.

SUNGLASSES

With summer just around the corner and the sun finally putting in an appearance this week, a pair of designer sunglasses might be just the thing for dad this Father’s Day. He’ll be able to wear them all summer long and you can get a discount on designer brands such as Ray-Ban and Oakley online and save a bit of money on a luxurious treat for dad.

What have you got planned for your dad this Father’s Day? Let me know in the comments below and I’d love to hear if you like the sound of any of these gifts above. I hope this gift guide has given you some last-minute inspiration to give dad a real treat next week! 🙂
