If you’ve got guests visiting over the festive season, are planning a big New Year’s Eve party, or simply want to dress up your dining table for a special family Christmas today’s easy DIYs will help you create magical place settings for next to nothing..!

My festive party table is inspired by vintage patterns and styles, with cut-glass tumblers, a sparkling table runner, customised glassware and glitzy gold placemats. But it didn’t cost me much – in fact, it probably adds up to no more than £10 in total to create this table setting. Or even less if you already have things like leftover spray paint, glue, glitter and washi tape in your craft cupboard.

The metallic “placemats” are in fact sheets of card that come in a pack of ten for just £1 from the range. The runner is leftover wallpaper from our renovating, but at this time of year it’s easy to pick up wrapping paper for £1 or less to get the same look. The napkins were also just £1 from our local newsagents. Plus, I’ve used glitter, PVA glue and paint to create some quick and easy DIYs to personalise your place settings.

I’ve shared a full step-by-step guide to create this tablescape so check out my blog post “Thrifty Tips to Create a Fun Party Table on a Budget” to find out how to make coordinating tealight holders, customised name cards, unique glasses and an impressive table centrepiece.
