I have many creative folk in my life so when it comes to selective a Christmas gift for those talented makers, I’ve certainly done plenty of research over the years. Here are a few ideas for festive gifts that artists, sewers and photographers will love…
FOR ARTISTS
There’s nothing better to get the creative juices flowing than a new sketchbook. And that’s especially true when it feels extra special like this landscape-orientation leather-bound sketchbook from Pen Heaven, which can be personalised with embossed initials. Such a lovely sketching pad can really encourage the artist in your life to pick up a paint brush. Add a mechanical Worther pencil with a variety of coloured lead refills and they’ll be ready to start sketching away on boxing day.
FOR SEWERS
As a sewer myself, one of the gifts that I would be most excited to receive is a fabric gift card to buy myself some new fabric for my next project. Often, not having the right fabric is the one thing that stops me in my tracks, so if I’ve got a whole website full of designs to choose from, it would be so much fun to plan a sewing project for January. If your friend is more into hand-stitching, then some creative cross-stitch kits from Etsy would a great place to start.
FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS
It always seems to me that photographers rarely get round to printing their own personal photos. So why not treat them to a photobook to enjoy their photographs ‘in real life’? This could even serve as a portfolio of their work so you could always ask them what photos they would choose to include in the book. FOR YOUNG CRAFTERS
If you want to get your youngsters interested in crafting, there are plenty of craft kits on Etsy to get them started. There’s everything from sticker making sets for little ones to candle-making kits for teens. I love the pompom crafting sets from PomStitchTassell, they look like so much fun to make.
