How to use fabric dyes

Remember when I gave my husband’s shoes a makeover using suede dye? Well, that video has ended up being rather popular on YouTube. It was one of my first ever videos and I just wanted to record the process for you guys so that you could see how easy it could be to makeover suede shoes rather than throwing them away. Now that video has been seen over 26,000 times – crazy!Anyway, the process worked so well and I was really impressed with the product I used. It was from one of my favourite DIY brands DYLON, and it was their Suede and Nubuck dye for shoes. It completely revived the faded old shoes and brought them back to life – my husband has been wearing them ever since and they are showing no signs of fading yet! Since then I’ve picked up a few of the DYLON hand dyes and have used them for a few projects in my home. These are really easy to use and very reasonably priced products if you want to try your hand at creating some on-trend tie-dye projects or to refresh the colour of faded clothing.

Amazing new pods

Did you know that there’s a brand new DYLON product that has just launched? They’ve just developed a clever ‘pod’ that goes in the washing machine and can make it even easier to dye fabric without dripping, spilling or leaking. The pod releases the dye into the machine during a wash cycle so you won’t be cutting open packaging, mixing the dye or getting it on your hands at all.Just imagine how sad you’d be if you had to throw out your favourite black skinny jeans just because the colour had faded.
