1. DO MAKE HER FEEL SPECIAL
It’s all about the bride-to-be, the ‘Mother Hen’ of the group. As the maid-of-honour, you need to make sure that your girl feels special in her last party as a single woman. Make the party all about her by not giving much importance to any other person of the group. All the elements of the hen night should be designed to entertain the bride-to-be.
2. DO INVITE CLOSE FRIENDS
If you are organising it alone, make sure you don’t forget to invite any of her close friends because celebrating the hen do with all her girlfriends is at the top of her priority list. Ask her other friends if you’ve missed anyone off the invitation list, as you might not already know all of her friends. Consider colleagues, school pals and even family members.

4. DO CONSIDER ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS
Make sure that you take care of all the booze-related arrangements because it is the only ingredient that will make the party crazier, and open up all the girlfriends to your entertainment options. Your hen do needs to be insanely entertaining, so make sure it happens right. You could book some butlers in the buff to serve up drinks and add to the wildness of the party. Organise all the other activities as per the desires of the bride-to-be: does she like crafting? Going to musicals? Baking? Make the activities memorable, crazy and fun for all!
5. DO BE RESPONSIBLE
One of the primary reasons that a hen do goes wrong is the fact that no one stays sober to the end! Make sure one of the group is responsible enough to take everyone home safely from the party venue, once they have had the time of their lives. Going too crazy can be trouble and a good ending is a must!
6. DO SHOWER HER WITH GIFTS

7. DON’T MAKE IT TOO EXPENSIVE
Planning something grand without taking into consideration the number of people that needs to invited can cost you a fortune. Don’t forget to count the invitees before planning an amazing hen do and finalise everything as per the purses of your girlfriends.
8. DON’T INVITE EVERYONE
A hen do is not a ‘party for all’. Don’t invite people that your favourite girl does not want at her special party. Avoid inviting the two mothers as well, so that your hen can enjoy the wildest moments of her single life without any worries. If you’re not sure, you can always run the guest list by the bride before you send out the invitations.
9. DON’T DRINK OTT
Don’t allow anyone to go all out while having the best night of their lives because an alcohol binge will only end the night negatively. It should be a night of wild memories, not a night of terrible moments. Take care of everything that the bride-to-be does on her last night of freedom to prevent her from doing something that might embarrass her when she’s sober! Cork up the bottle if the party seems to be getting out of control and start to wind down the evening. Getting a bite to eat from a takeaway is a good idea at this point!
10. DON’T GO OVERBOARD
Avoid doing anything that the bride will not be comfortable with. Even though it’s the ‘last night of freedom’ for your girl, you all need to keep in mind that her wedding day is very near, and doing something that is unforgettable – or dangerous! – is the worst idea ever.
