If you’ve got an old sweatshirt that you’d like to revamp for autumn, here’s a quick & easy upcycling video to show you how to give it a new lease of life with a happy slogan. You can choose any design you like and make your own custom-made jumper, ready for the chilly season. Here’s how…

You may know that I’m a bit of an upcycling fanatic, especially when it comes to customising clothing. I’ve already shared a project to use heat-transfer vinyl to cover up stains and bring old clothing back to life. And I even made my own Christmas jumpers from charity-shop finds!

This time, I had a plain, over-sized sweatshirt in my wardrobe and I fancied giving it a bit of a transformation. Using heat-transfer vinyl has become a bit of a ‘thing’ for me – whenever I want to change up my wardrobe, I take a look at while I’ve already got and then customise it!

YOU WILL NEED:

I was making this sweatshirt for my own autumn wardrobe when I thought it would be fun to film the process and share that with you. It’s a great way to create a unique piece of clothing that no-one else has, plus you can use it to cover up any marks on your top (I’m forever dropping dinner down myself!).

Here’s the step-by-step video that I’ve just posted on my YouTube channel.

This jumper has gone from being one of my least favourites to one that I want to wear every day! It’s amazing what a difference it makes when you’ve put the time and effort into creating something yourself – I’m really proud of it now. Plus, I’ve managed to upcycle it rather than get rid of it, so that’s a win for me!

What do you reckon? Will you have a go at upcycling your own sweatshirts for autumn? Let me know in the comments below if you have at go at this project and I’d lovet o see photos so please send me your pics on Instagram @Cassiefairy.
