This summer seems to be the season of engagements. I’ve seen so many couples coming back from their holidays with rings on their fingers and a big smile on their faces.
And that’s got me thinking about summer proposals, how the season itself becomes part of the magic and, of course, the savings that can come with getting engaged at this time of year.
There’s something about summer that makes everything feel so relaxed and special. Maybe it’s the warm breeze, the mood-boosting serotonin from the sunshine, or the longer evenings.
For me, summer is also thrifty – because you can do so much outdoors without spending a penny. And that goes for big life events too, like celebrations and, as we’ll explore in this article, engagements!

I personally love the colours of the sunrise and sunset, and looking at the flaming sky just feels so peaceful for me. I try to see both each day – although I’d have to get up pretty early to see the sunrise in the height of summer!
