DIY project – renovating an old footstool

Here’s a little DIY project that my husband and I did over the weekend (well, he did it and I ‘helped’ by saying yes to the fabric choice!). He took the cushion pad out of the stool frame and lightly sanded the legs before painting with a chalky blue wood paint.

Then the fabric was cut to size and wrapped tightly around the cushion pad and stapled on the underside. Hubby then covered the edges with picture-framing tape to neaten and stop the edges of fabric from fraying.

When the frame was dry, he lightly flicked a brush over the edges of the legs using a little white paint for a distressed look and popped the cushion paid back into place – well done hubby!
