My Maneki Neko obsession – a new addition to the family!

I couldn’t believe my luck when I was away on a short holiday last weekend and found a whole shop of lucky cats! I spent a lot of time gazing in the window and browsing around the store and choosing my favourites from the massive selection.

We bought a fortune cookie each and I chose a souvenir of a garish gold dinosaur to go with my blingin’ cat ‘n’ pig collection. Poor old Dino the Defective Dinosaur had lived in the shop window and had become scorched on his tubby tummy by the sun. So I couldn’t resist and adopted him into my family of Maneki Neko and gold pets.

  1. Thank you Cassiefairy 🙂 If I ever get to Essex I’ll try and have a look there, but in the meantime I’ll check out Joanies then (when I get the kids off to school). It’s only a little collection so far (seven) but they’ve stolen my heart, and call me bonkers, but my life and luck have definitely improved since getting them! Many thanks, and hope you have a lovely week. Mx

  2. Hi, This shop was in Walton-on-the-naze in Essex and my favourite site for all kinds of lucky animals is http://www.Joaniesgifts.co.uk – the shop is owned by Joanie who is vietnamese & she ships amazing & great quality maneki neko to UK & worldwide. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on with expanding your collection! 🙂

  3. Hi! Where was this shop, if you don’t mind me asking? I collect Maneki Neko too, and I’m having trouble finding ones that aren’t same old. Also do you know any sites in the US that ship to the UK? x

  4. Yay! They are fab aren’t they?! I’m hoping my collection will grow if my family sees this blog post and decides to get me more lucky cats for my birthday! haha! x
