It’s finally here! The time of year when it becomes perfectly acceptable to take your socks off in public and show your pale toes to the world. It’s the season of sun, seaside and, inevitably, sandals. So this Tuesday Shoesday I wanted to show you my new favourite summer shoes and to challenge you to guess what brand they are.I wrote about the jelly shoes trend last year after WGSN predicted an increase in rubber footwear and have reminisced about really wanting a pair when I was a child. Now that the trend has come full-circle, jelly shoes are finally in fashion again and I’ve seen hundreds of styles available on the high street. The only problem has been that modern jelly shoes are not quite as comfortable as I remember them being in childhood. In truth, all the ones I’ve tried on have been rather plasticy and unyielding so they will inevitably rub my toes and blister my heels. Which is why I have resisted buying any. Until now.I picked up these gorgeous brightly coloured jelly sandals from Flip Flop Shop and they have transformed my summer wardrobe. Not only are they the cutest summer sandals I’ve ever seen, but they are also the most comfortable. The straps stretch a little, which make them easy to get on while keeping the shoes firmly strapped to my foot – I never feel like they are about to flop off at any moment! The rubber sole is also really flexible and when I walk on them my feet feel cushioned. There’s definitely an element of bounce-back from the rubber so they are really comfortable on the soles and I can wear them all day without my feet getting tired. Whether you’re walking around a seaside town, strolling along the promenade, playing in the sand or running into the sea, these sandals will stay put and keep your feet comfortable. Oh wait. I still haven’t told you what brand these are yet. They are Crocs. This really surprised me because I picked them out based on their bright go-with-everything colours before I even looked at the brand. After double-checking that these aren’t clogs – they are the Huarache flat sandal style – I realised that the Crocs design is probably what makes these sandals so comfortable. Plus, the pretty styling has definitely made Crocs more accessible for an older audience. Okay, I did pick out these sandals because of the bright colours and child-like jelly shoes style, but I mean a little more grown-up than a 5 years old running around the garden in bright pink Crocs clogs! Let me know what you think of my new summer sandals – these will be the only ones I buy this year, honest! – and whether you too have tried any of the Crocs flip-flop or sandal styles yourself. I would never have suspected they were either Crocs or Jelly shoes – they look really comfy, I may have to investigate treating myself to a pair 🙂

I’ve got to say I never thought I would hear the words ‘I want those crocs’ come out of my mouth – I have always had a deadly aversion to them. But these are gorgeous!
Definitely Lisa, perfect for the pebbly beaches around here 😀
Ooh, those are actually super cute – what a surprise! They’d also be perfect for the beach if they’re Crocs as you could paddle without even taking them off.
