I thought I’d share with you the amazing news that I’ve been invited to be a judge for the “Tiling for a Good Cause” charitable initiative. I’m so excited! After winning the award for Best Homes & Interiors Blogger earlier this year, I was so delighted when Tile Trader got in touch again to see if I’d like to be a judge for their nationwide initiative. They are urging members of the public to nominate a space in their local area in need of a makeover. The initiative is designed to give one deserving facility the chance to receive a tiling transformation worth up to £500 to update a lacklustre space.
Local spaces and projects may include the addition of brand new tiles to create a friendlier bathroom at a local care home, a fun mural for a sensory garden within a community centre, or on-trend tiles to update a kitchen area at a local sports club.
Peter Swain from Tile Trader said: “With minimum budget, local spaces are all too often left untouched or neglected. We wanted to inject life into a deserving community project or initiative using tiles – a material often used to revamp smaller spaces in need of a makeover. We encourage the people of the UK to nominate a worthy space. We look forward to reading through all the nominations!”
“Tiling for a Good Cause” is open to everyone and members of the public are being asked to simply submit a short, written description detailing how they would like the nominated space to be transformed with new tiles online here:

Entries must be accompanied by a photograph or video to illustrate the current look of the existing space to update. Nominations can be made from Wednesday 18thOctober 2017 until Wednesday 15th November 2017 so hurry up and submit your entry now! Surely you can think of a deserving charity or club in your local area who would benefit from a facelift?!
The nominated entries will then be open to a public online vote between Wednesday 15th November 2017 and Wednesday 29th November 2017. A panel of expert judges comprising of Karen Stylianides, editor for Grand Designs magazine, Michela Colling, style editor for Ideal Home magazine, and little ol’ me then get to decide the overall winner shortly after this date.
The winning facility will receive new Tile Trader tiles and accompanying tiling materials worth up to £500. The prize does not include installation and entries must be a small project space. The full prize details and terms and conditions of the campaign can be seen here http://tiletrader.co.uk/tiling-for-a-good-cause
Good luck everyone!
