With December 1st fast approaching, I’ve come up with a quick and easy DIY advent calendar that you can make as a family. Plus, it’s reusable so you can refill it with treats every year and will never need to buy a chocolate calendar again! Here’s what you’ll need to make this Christmas tree advent calendar and I’ve even added a step-by-step video to show you how to do it..!
YOU WILL NEED
24 tiny florists buckets (from craft shops, The Range etc)
1 tiny-but-slightly-larger florists bucket
Spray paint in red, gold, green – whatever colour you prefer to match your holiday decor
Adhesive numbers up to 24 and star stickers
Treats and sweets
HOW TO DIY IT
Here’s a quick video to show you how to make this DIY advent calendar for yourself – it really couldn’t be easier. Enjoy the festive music while you watch!
And there you have it – 25 tiny buckets that you can fill with toffees, chocolate coins, boiled sweets and any other little treats you can think of. If there’s 4 of you in your family, make sure you add a treat for each person. Add something special into the bigger Christmas day bucket, such as candy canes or chocolate bars. You can use them as decorations for your Christmas tree and the little ones can have fun hunting out the correct bucket each day. Alternatively, you can hang them on a rail or stand them in line on the mantelpiece or a windowsill. Or you could hide the buckets around the house or dot them on your bookshelves to hunt out as a family.I first posted this video on my Instagram story so if you’d like to be first to see my latest DIY projects and recipes, please follow me @Cassiefairy on Instagram.
