My features this month – Reloved, Safestore & HandyMano Blog

It’s been a busy month here at Cassiefairy HQ so I wanted to share my latest articles with you. Plus I’m sharing the details of a fab competition to celebrate World Stationary Day with the Old English Company so read on to find out how to enter…

RELOVED ISSUE 53

You may have spotted my blog post earlier this week about the upcycled patterned bathroom cabinet I made. Well, I was lucky enough to share my project in the Reloved magazine and I’m really chuffed with the way the piece looks in the magazine – the layout is fab and even provides a template for readers to cut out the moorish pattern themselves.

SAFESTORE BLOG

I completed a fun upcycling project for the Safestore blog this month. I took some old melamine shelving – the kind of thing you might find stashed away in a storage unit – and gave it a new lease of life with some paint and sticky vinyl. I added a rack to the bottom shelf to create an LP storage unit. The top is the perfect spot for a record player and there’s plenty of room for a vinyl collection below. Check out the step-by-step LP unit makeover on the safestore blog.

HANDY MANO BLOG

The summery weather got me thinking about my garden and I headed outdoors to see what I could make. With just four pallets (I’ve always got some lurking around!) I created a two-person garden bench. I shared the steps to recreate this DIY pallet chair project on the Handy Mano blog. I hope you give it a go – it’s such an easy way to recycle old pallets into a really handy piece of garden furniture.

KITCHEN DESIGN

I contributed to another expert round-up article this month and shared my tips for designing a practical kitchen. I wrote about the importance of having a pantry or larder to store dried and preserved food, as well as having a few shelves in the pantry to house kitchen gadgets that you don’t use all the time. I think a pantry is a money-saving essential for any kitchen because it allows you to buy in bulk at the right price as you have somewhere safe to store those food bargains. I’m so pleased to be included in this article alongside some very important interior designers and bloggers! Read the article here: Top Things To Consider When Designing A Kitchen.

In other news, my alcove dressing table blog post was featured in the Rex London ‘favourite bloggers’ newsletter for March! Hurrah!

Do let me know if you’d like me to contribute any ideas or tips to your own website – email me [email protected], I’d be delighted to help!
