Now here’s a garden project that I’m really chuffed with. I actually surprised myself that we were able to make a thoroughly sturdy planter with just a few pallets and a couple of hours work. Who would have thought that I’d ever use a circular saw?! Well, I did! And now there’s no stopping me! I’ve shared the photos of the step-by-step project here. When I was looking at the stack of 7 pallets on the grass, I found it hard to imagine them as a garden planter but I want to make something for my new garden and the pallets were the only materials I had. So, I set about measuring and cutting, nailing and screwing until they turned into something resembling a planter.I really wanted to add privacy screens to the garden too – I just think they look really cool – and when I found a narrow-slatted pallet, I knew it would be the ideal backdrop for climbing plants. I’ve been oggling privacy screens on Pinterest for weeks and I definitely prefer this style of garden barrier to a trellis or fence. I took plenty of photos of the process and have shared the whole project on the Handy Mano blog. Please have a look at my How to Make a Pallet Planter blog post for the step-by-step guide to creating this project for yourself. After lining the planter and filling it with compost, I thoroughly enjoyed picking out some plants to fill the planter with colour and foliage. Let me know if you have a go at making this project for yourself and please share your tips for customising it in the comments below. I’d love to see photos of your planters so please tag me on Instagram @Cassiefairy if you share a snap of your project too!
