Menswear sale bargain – A new Army & Navy coat

Even though I only picked up a handful of goodies in the sales this year, I think you’ll agree that my husband has got a great deal with his bargain purchase: a new coat from House of Fraser. It’s been literally years since he got a new coat and even though he already has a few in his wardrobe, they are all sale, second-hand, or charity shop finds, so after a few years of wear they are looking a little tired. So I was delighted when he liked the look of this clearance coat and I couldn’t wait for it to arrive by mail order.army and navy coat menswear sale bargain

The coat is a super-dark (almost black) navy blue pea coat from Army and Navy and it’s currently reduced in the winter sale. The double-breasted buttons make this wool coat look smart and the zipped pockets are particularly useful for keeping keys and phones safe (he is always losing them!). He usually wears a size medium and the fit of this coat allows a little extra room for chunky jumpers which is great for the cold winter that we’re having here on the coast.

So I’ve invested in a lint-roller to solve that problem, and I’ve since realised just how fluffy my duffel coat had become and I’ve spruced it up with a lint-free makeover!

As a result of investing in such a fab multi-purpose coat, hubby has decided to have a coat clear-out and has passed on his khaki pea coat to his father. The torn gilet has been recycled, the navy coat with the missing buttons has been repaired and passed on to charity, and his slightly-too-short-on-the-arms black pea coat is up for grabs if any of our brothers want it. So not only has it been a money-saving buy but it’s been space-saving purchase too!
