Attention fellas! It’s that time of year again when you might be considering pulling on a pair of shorts and showing off your footballers legs to the world. But wait a sec before you get your pins out. What shoes are you going to wear with those shorts? Are office shoes going to look right with knobbly knees? Are trainers too much for wearing on the beach? And I’m sure you’re not even thinking about wearing your comfy boots, are you?Luckily, I’m here to help with three footwear choices to suit your shorts whatever the occasion so read on to find out how to style your summer wardrobe this sunny Tuesday Shoesday. The first pair of shorts a staple for many men during the summer; denim. It’s as comfortable as wearing your regular jeans but with a pleasing breeze around your calves. Yes, those turn-ups look super casual as you stroll along the promenade so keep it cool with a pair of trainers.Of course, I’m not just talking about any trainers; they’ve got to be retro-chic to really pull off this look. A pair of sports trainers will clash with your denim shorts and make you look like you got dressed in the dark. However, a straight-out-of-the-90s pair of Gola trainers, Addidas stripes, Converse pumps or Green Flash trainers will do the job nicely. Plus, you’ll be super-comfortable while taking a walk on a sunny day. Just add a pair of retro sunglasses & you’ll look effortlessly cool this summer. The second look is a the smart way to wear shorts. You’ve got a garden party to attend, a smart-casual occasion that would usually require chinos, but it’s far too hot to wear those trousers. So choose a smart pair of knee-length shorts and team them with some suede shoes and a pair of classic tortoiseshell sunglasses. These shoes won’t look too heavy on your feet thanks to the tan colour but will look smart enough for any occasion. These are similar to desert boots, but have a lower ankle height, which means that they’ll work with shorts. Of course, they’ll be great with jeans and chinos in the cooler weather too so are a great all-rounder to have in your wardrobe. The final look is an on-the-beach-and-around-the-pool pair of shoes. If you’ve got your swimming shorts on, just what can you wear on your feet to walk to the kiosk for an ice cream? Why, striped sandals of course! More manly than flip-flips and with a definite retro vibe, these navy stripes will go with almost every pair of swimming shorts out there. You can slide your wet feet into them and the rubber sole won’t get damaged. When they’re filled with sand, you can easily tip it out as you reach the promenade. Your toes can air-dry and you won’t hurt the soles of your feet on the pebbly part of the beach. And when you’re at home, you can use them for popping out into the garden to take the bins out. Bonus! All these mens shoes can be found at Jacamo, so check out the website for some bargain summer footwear – these sandals were only £8!
