I’m excited to tell you that this weekend is the Makers Market From Home Christmas Bonanza so I’ll be doing all my Christmas shopping with indie businesses from the comfort of my own home.
The market is held live online on Instagram @MakersMarketFromHome on Sunday 15th November from 10am and you can continue to shop online with the makers for your Christmas gifts all month. There are so many FREE live activities to join in with on market day including make-alongs and craft demos – details of which can be found on their website MakersMarketFromHome.com.
Inspired by the Etsy Editor’s Christmas Guides, I’ve picked out some of my favourite Etsy sellers from this virtual market where you’ll be able to get great deals and take advantage of special market-day offers. I hope you’ll be inspired to buy from independent makers this Christmas after you see what’s on offer at @MakersMarketFromHome.
ACCESSORIES
Lilac Blossom Designs creates colourful and personalised bags, purses and pouches – all handmade in Scotland.
One Man’s Trash UK upcycles offcuts of leather into cool recycled earrings. They’re cheap, original, and you’re doing your bit for the planet. Happy earrings, happy you.
ARTISTS
Lucy H Codd Artist creates watercolour animal artworks along with original Christmas cards, mugs, totes and coasters.
Unruly Print makes hand-cut, hand-printed personalised original lino print artworks for under £20 so be sure to check them out for custom-made gifts. The Christmas cards were even made with the help of an animated Santa!
Amy Mahoney Art creates arty zipper bags, totes, pillowcases and these jazzy festive baubles. I love the bright colours and strong shapes she uses in her designs.
Pipsy Puffin Art has a huge variety of festive designs including original Christmas cards and these colour-in festive postcards. On market day she is hosting a virtual colour-along session at 14:45.
Abby Sumner makes colourful risograph prints and cards, which I have purchased myself in the past so I’ll be sure to stock up during the market.
CERAMICS
Local-to-me ceramics artist Hannah Berridge makes personalised gifts painted in a range of designs from flowers to beach huts. She made my custom baubles of Cookie and Muffin which proudly hang on my Christmas tree each year.
The Thoughtful Potter makes hand-thrown ceramics in her Somerset studio and incorporates flowers and leaves into her mugs, vases and jugs. She will be throwing pottery live on Instagram on market day. These Christmas star decorations are beautifully packaged.
Louise CJ Ceramics makes happy handmade ceramic ornaments inslucing this festive rainbow robin and plenty of personalised options for baubles and decorations – including cute ceramic pet portraits. At 13:30 on market day Louise will be running a polar bear painting workshop!
GIFTS
Quirk Botanicals makes handmade bath-bombs and cosmetics from natural ingredients. I like the sound of her Hot Apple Pie and Warm Spice festive scents. At 10:50 on 15th November Quirk Botanicals will be teaching a FREE bath-bomb making workshop.
Cally Youdell Textiles uses free-motion embroidery to create the festive designs in her Etsy Shop. At Makers Market From Home she will be teaching a free-motion embroidery class at 11:35.
She Who Clays makes unique festive decorations and jewellery using polymer clay. These terrazzo decorations are super cool.
SalvagedNorfolk makes unique eco-friendly gifts made from reclaimed timber. How cool are these rustic upcycled wood Christmas trees?
I hope you’ll go along to the virtual @MakersMarketFromHome this weekend on Sunday 15th November and support independent businesses and self-employed makers this Christmas.
