Tuesday Shoesday – Twinkle toes

You know when you pop into Tesco for a pint of milk and come out with a pair of glittery brogues? Surely I can’t be the only one that this has happened to? tesco glitter brogues from florence and fred-5A couple of weeks ago I was passing the ‘big’ Tesco in a nearby town and needed to pick up some milk. That’s all. Just milk. However, immediately in front of the doors was a massive sale rail. And on that rail were a pair of sparkly silver shoes glinting in the sunlight.tesco glitter brogues from florence and fred-3Yes, these brogues. All small, twinkly and ribbony. In the kids section. Of course, I already had my hands on them before I realised that they were from the F&F children’s range and I braced myself to be disappointed as I looked at the size.tesco glitter brogues from florence and fred-4There was an audible whoop as I discovered that they were the right size for me (size 4) and the right price too – £4 (can you believe it?). My favourite number and mental age all wrapped up in one shiny package. So that £1 bottle of milk turned into a £5 purchase in a matter of seconds. tesco glitter brogues from florence and fredOkay, I don’t really know if I’ll ever find the occasion to wear these shoes, but they were just too magical to leave behind and they deserve a loving home, even if it IS just being worn in my vintage caravan. They are kind of shoes that you’d want to sleep in, like something out of a fairytale. I don’t know if these brogues are still available in the sales now, but I’ve had a look at Tesco online and there are lots of similar metallic shoe bargains to be had so check it out for yourself before it’s too late!
