Tuesday Shoesday – The Most Comfortable Shoes Ever??

It is just me, or does everyone think that bowling shoes are simply the most comfortable shoes they’ve ever worn? On more than one occasion I’ve seriously considered ditching the pumps that I arrived in and waltzing out of the bowling alley in my new super-comfy shoes – and I would have – if I hadn’t worn my fave boots / cutest heels / lovely-shoes-that-I’ve-just-had-reheeled and happily handed them over to the shoe-prison at the front of the bowling alley.

I know I could never actually seriously steal bowling shoes but has anyone else thought it’d be a good idea to rock up to Kingpin wearing £3 plimsols and casually wander off at the end of the game ‘forgetting’ to change back into them? I know one absent-minded lady who went off shopping in town before realising she was still sporting those very jazzy bowling shoes. Of course she returned them immediately, but surely that is testament to just how comfortable the bowling shoes were, that she didn’t even notice she had the wrong shoes on?!

And can I add just how very funky bowling shoes are. Their design is undeniably retro – even this brand new, modern, velco-fastening pair that the local bowling alley has recently upgraded to (below) are pretty cool – and are still comfortable even without years of wear. Plus the colours are always in traditionally clashing shades, such as red vs blue and green vs purple. Where else do you get shoes in colours like that?

And finally – I’ve found most bowling shoes to be made of quality leather and are the most long-lasting shoes considering the sheer volume of wear they get. It kind of makes me shudder to think of all the feet that have slipped into the pair of size 4s that are on my trotters, but not so much that it distracts from the pure unadulterated comfort of my footwear for the next hour of competitive sport. I don’t care about all those sweaty feet cos because I know they’ve been squirted with ‘disinfectant’ and I’d still pinch them if I was dodgy enough!

So does anyone know where I can buy some bowling shoes? I think they’d look fab poking out from under my flared jeans this spring. I’m going to investigate and I’ll let you know what happens…

  1. I once arrived home to find I still had the bowling shoes on they were so comfortable I had not noticed, unfortunatly I had to go back the next day to claim my own shoes back.

  2. Great, I’m SO getting some bowling shoes – they’re on my birthday list & I’ve found somewhere on Ebay you can buy them!

  3. I do not even know the way I finished up here, however I believed this submit used to be great. I don’t recognise who you’re however definitely you are going to a well-known blogger in case you aren’t already. Cheers!
