Okay, so even though this is a cheeky Valentine’s Day post, I want to start out by saying that relationships can be serious at times. Work and family commitments can end up taking you away from each other and what with paying the bills, saving for a wedding and raising a family, sometimes relationships can end up being a little too serious and we forget to have fun with the person we love. We sometimes miss out on the time we do have together by looking at a screen all evening rather than each other – yes, I’m guilty of this! And we often grow out of playing together like we did when we were first dating. Luckily, I have the solution to make this Valentine’s Day super-fun with an unusual gift idea: his ‘n’ hers socks from ChattyFeet! The founders of this playful brand believe that grownupland gets a bit too serious at times and it became their mission to inject more fun into people’s lives through this one question; ‘What if our socks could talk?’. This lightbulb moment led Gil and Humberto to develop a family of 18 character designs that have spawned a community of sock-selfie-ists. Photos of ChattyFeet pop up on my social feeds everyday in all kinds of funny situations; from Professor Brian Sox at a university conference to Kate Middletoe opening a village fete. I too have been known to take a quick selfie of La Diva going for a paddle in the freezing cold sea and have played sock-puppets with my baby nephew wearing his own mini version of Mr Grrrrl on his hands. If you’ve read my blog in the past it probably comes as no surprise to you that I am a big fan of ChattyFeet – I even used them as gifts in my DIY Christmas crackers this year – so when I found out about the special Valentine’s Day his ‘n’ hers range I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them… or in this case, my feet in them! The two romantic designs include rock ‘n’ rollers Danny and Sandy and the super-cool Commander Awesome and Venus, and hubby and I love them.In truth, I couldn’t wait until Valentine’s Day so we popped them on as soon as they arrived and started playing. I never knew that my husband was so good writing comedy sketches until his feet were in these socks – it was like he’d been inspired to come up with every grease-related pun out there; “Sandy, oil love you forever”, “Oh Danny, you’re so slick”, “Everything you do in-greases my love for you”, “You’ve slipped straight into my heart” and so on. What? I never said they were good puns! I’ve just found out that ChattyFeet are running a Valentine’s giveaway this week and there will be 10 winners, each winning a set of his ‘n’ hers ChattyFeet for Valentine’s Day. The giveaway runs from 1st Feb – 7th Feb 2015 and the 10 winners will be chosen on 8th February so don’t delay – check out the Valentine’s giveaway for the chance to win a funny sock set now!
