5 decor changes that’ll completely transform your bathroom

With the amount of time that we spend in our bathrooms on a weekly basis, it is a wonder that we don’t put more effort into its appearance. Everyone dreams of having a spa-like sanctuary upstairs, and it’s not as unachievable as it may seem. Whether you’re thinking big or small, extravagant renovations or a makeover on a budget, there are several changes that you can make to your bathroom to completely transform it…

Statement Mirror

If you have a large empty space on your wall, especially if it’s above your sink, then try hanging a statement mirror. If you’re thinking thrifty, then you can look for these in charity shops, local market, or even the shop at your local tip. If these are no good, then I’m sure that there are several stores on your local high street that stock mirrors with more extravagant frames. Alternatively, you could look out for several smaller mirrors and put them all together in this space. This idea may seem messy and mismatched, but I assure you that they’ll look lovely all together on the wall.

Wacky Wallpaper

Contrary to popular belief, wallpaper can look great in your bathroom. Working some wallpaper into your bathroom can give it a whole new lease of life, especially if it has a particularly bold and colourful print. Just ensure that you keep it as dry as possible, to prevent it from being ruined.

Change Up Your Tub

If you have a standard wall-to-wall bathtub, then a change may be in order. Consider having a freestanding or corner bath installed to give your bathroom a completely different look and feel. Corner baths and freestanding tubs will make a much bigger impact, as they will make the room feel a lot larger than it actually is, simply because the tub isn’t taking up a whole wall. There are plenty of online stores, such as Soakology.co.uk, which stock beautiful corner baths which saves you the trip into town.

Beautiful Bath Mat

A plain white bath mat not only looks incredibly boring on your bathroom floor, but it can easily start to go discoloured and look less than appealing too. Instead, invest in a bigger and more lavish bath mat. Go for darker colours if you want your bath mat to look newer and cleaner for longer. Don’t bother to have your bath mat matching your bath towels, as they can easily be put away, but if you have a shower, then you may want to consider changing that too, to match the new colour of the mat.

Repaint The Ceiling

Rather than paint your ceiling the typical (and boring) white of every other room in your house, go for something bold and beautiful. A black ceiling, for example, is completely out of the ordinary and is certain to have a massive impact on your room. Just ensure your choose either the ceiling or the wallpaper, both in one room would definitely be too much. Visit www.houzz.com to see some wonderfully bold ceiling colours.

By following these tips, you’ll have your bathroom looking and feeling brand new in no time at all. Transforming your bathroom doesn’t have to expensive, it just has to be bold and new.
