The latest issue of See Suffolk has landed this month and it’s a gorgeous Winter edition. It’s not just a festive issue (although there’s plenty of inspiration for Christmas and New Year) because it’s full of cosy wintery articles with hearty food, seasonal fashion, wellbeing advice and local news pieces.
You can still order the Winter 21/22 issue on the See Suffolk website – either as a printed copy delivered through the post (if you order by 22nd December) for you to flick through during your time off this Christmas, or as a digital download that you can start reading straight away.
I was delighted to interview Alex and Matt at Beyond the Barn for the Winter issue of See Suffolk and it’s so exciting to see the finished article in print. They’ve shared the story of their Suffolk barn conversion – including the challenges of living on-site, spiralling costs and achieving a sympathetic restoration of their tumbledown barn.
These gorgeous photos are of their guest barn, which has been beautifully dressed for Christmas. Alex grows and dries her own flowers from the garden ready for Christmas and creates beautiful natural wreaths and garlands. She’s really talented at all things floral and I’d love to have her style my home for Christmas! Here’s a photo tour of their beautiful barn:
Alex and Matt have reused as many materials from the 19th Century barns as possible to preserve the historical feel inside the properties and have added a 21st Century extension to their guest barn to add a comfortable living room with an impressive picture window that overlooks the garden – simply stunning!
The barn is available to hire for cosy Suffolk holidays so please do check out Beyond The Barn’s website for more info and a fabulous video tour of the barn, gardens and aerial shots of the surrounding countryside.
Let me know if these festive photos have inspired your Christmas decor this year and please comment below if you’ve bagged yourself a copy of See Suffolk magazine! 🙂
