Whenever I’m looking for gifts, whether at Christmas or throughout the year, I always head to local and independent businesses first. If I can find a special present while also supporting a small biz or local maker, all the better! Here are some gorgeous gift ideas from crafters and small brands…
Welcome to my final gift guide of the year, and it’s not just a Christmas gift guide this time. This one features presents that would be very gratefully received at any time of year – for birthdays, anniversaries or as wedding gifts.
I’m personally friends with a lot of independent makers and small business owners so I love to support them whenever I can. This is why I’ve put together this quick gift guide to help you find some fantastic creative businesses on Etsy.
I thought that the easiest thing to do would be to show you some gift collections that I’ve put together on my own profile so that you can browse a range of gifts based on a theme. But first, here’s a quick link to the Etsy Holiday Shop to take you straight to sellers who have festive pieces for sale and gorgeous gifts for Christmas.
The first gift collection – Artistic Gifts – is a favourite of mine, and it’s where I usually go when I want to buy a unique or personalised artwork for a friend or family member. The collection includes plenty of great value art prints including:
- Personalised prints by Unruly Print
- Lino prints by Hannah Farthing
- Risograph prints by Abby Sumner
- Foil prints by Crafty Cats Club
- Retro-inspired prints by Rebecca Pymer
- Typography prints by Aspen Press
Gifts for kids
My second gift collection is a colourful selection of Gifts for Kids. These toys and kits would be ideal for birthday presents, as well as at Christmas, and many are made from sustainable materials. I love the fact that most of these items can be personalised with a child’s name to make the gift really special.
Clothing & accessories
With personalised pieces, fine jewellery and unique accessories, this gift collection of Clothing and Accessories is for when you want to find something really special for a big birthday or an important occasion. I actually already own some of these pieces of jewellery and have bought many of these items for friends so I know that they’re great quality and beautifully packaged.
- Handmade cork purses by LilacBlossomShop
- Custom made clothing by Had Davies
- Fine jewellery by Bluebell Lane
- Enamel pins by by Crafty Cats Club
- Ethical tagua jewellery by Lydia Miriam
Okay, okay, this is just a collection of my own personal favourite items on Etsy. It’s basically a wish-list for myself haha! Here’s the link to the Space-Themed Gifts collection in case you want to check it out for the universe-mad wannabe-astronaut in your life…
I hope this blog post has given you some inspiration for your gift shopping, both at Christmas and throughout the year. Do you have an Etsy collection of favourite gifts that you’d like to share with us?
