Do you (like me!) enjoy picking out a special outfit just for Christmas day? It always makes me laugh when I’m watching the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special and Gavin admires Stacey’s outfit, to which she replies; ‘Thanks, it’s my Christmas dress’. It’s just so true! I love to choose a new outfit just for Christmas day and, even if I’ve bought it months before, I won’t wear it until the big day!
I didn’t have much spare time for shopping on the high street this year (and I always need to try on dresses to make sure they fit correctly) so I’ve had to browse online for an alternative Christmas outfit. I may not have picked out a ‘Christmas dress’, but I have chosen suitably festive knit and a rather swish shirt for my husband from House of Fraser. 
I always know what size I am in the Linea range from HoF so it’s easy for me to view the selection online. I wanted a new festive knit this year, especially after my husband got a new animated gingerbread jumper last week, so I checked out the selection of Christmas jumpers from Linea Weekend. What do you think of the reindeer design I chose? Grey is one of the colours that really suit me but it’s difficult to find Christmas jumpers that aren’t garish primary colours, so I was delighted when I saw this subtle design in soft grey. I also love the fair isle-inspired intarsia patterns across the jumper – perfect for wearing all winter, and not just on Christmas day!
I also found an amazing shirt for my husband – this bird print shirt, also from House of Fraser. It’s just been reduced on the website so I snapped it up for his smart ‘Christmas outfit’. With perfectly detailed bird illustrations and great tailoring, I’m thoroughly impressed by the quality of New & Lingwood shirts. I can’t wait for see him wearing it on Christmas day but I’m banning him from wearing it before then, just in case anything gets spilled on it haha! I know he’ll get a lot of use out of it over the year too because it’s a lightweight cotton fabric so would be fab for summer events.
So what do you think of our his ‘n’ hers Christmas day outfits? I’m actually considering wearing my jumper a little sooner than Christmas because it’s so festive and is really getting me in the mood for the holiday season nice and early. I suppose wearing it while wrapping presents and listening to jolly music would be okay, wouldn’t it??
