In case you didn’t already hear me bleating on about it on Twitter – I’m going to the UK Blog Awards! So basically, you’ll be treated to lots of preparation posts on the blog this week, showing you exactly what dress and accessories I’m going to wear, the make-up and skincare I’m using and, today, you’re going to see which shoes I’ve chosen to wear for the big event. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE to hear about other people’s preparations for special occasions (yes, I am a nosy gal) PLUS it’s handy to have an idea of what my favourite bloggers will be wearing so that I can spot them in a crowd at the awards ceremony! So I figured, if I’M interested in this, maybe you’ll be interested to hear about what I’ve been getting up to in preparation for the UK Blog Awards… So, lets start at the bottom and focus on the shoes. Well, it IS Tuesday Shoesday after all. When it comes to choosing heels for any occasion I always head straight to Hotter. It’s literally the only place I can find beautiful heels that don’t hurt my feet. So when all your friends are hobbling home shoe-less after a night of wearing too-high shoes and you’re skipping along without a pinch in your comfy heels, you’ll be pleased that you chose Hotter shoes too! I can wear them all day at weddings, I can dance lindy-hop all night, and I’ve even worn a pair while waltzing on the dancefloor of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Love them for all occasions and events so, of course I’ve chosen a new pair for the UK Blog Awards too. Yes, they may cost a little more than supermarket shoes or high street stores, but it’s all about cost-per-wear with me. Why buy a new pair of shoes each time you’re invited to an event only to find that you actually couldn’t wear a moment longer afterwards? They’ll sit in your wardrobe – unworn – for years before you realise that it’s time to clear out those shoes that you can’t face wearing again. I wear my Hotter shoes time and time again – so really once I have a pair in every colour I’ll never need to buy any more shoes for my whole life (thankfully my shoe size tends to stay the same, haha!) – apart from more Hotter designs, of course. So for this special event in my life I headed straight for the Hotter website and began shortlisting my favourites. Not knowing exactly what dress I was going to wear, I decided to order 3 pairs and try them on for size. I wanted to make sure they would ‘go with anything’ so the ideal choices were nude and silver. Both of these shades would work with any dress for any occasion and I think they are great wardrobe staples. Most of my current collection of Hotter shoes have straps across the front because the straps keep the shoes firmly in place, which is ideal for dancing. Plus, I think they look cute! Even so, I was tempted to try out some of the more ‘designery’ styles from the website, so I picked out a bow-fronted heel in silver. It was hard to choose a colour because this design is available in no less than TEN colours and finishes. I knew that the nude heels would go with any outfit combination and I’m pretty sure that the light silver is one of those metallic shades that just works with almost any dress. I was confident that both were going to be ‘the ones’ for the event, but just before I headed to the checkout another pair caught my eye.Wow! Bright magenta pink with shiny patent heels and a cute little bow. Oooh I love them. And when you’re buying new shoes, you’ve got to love them, right? Seeing as I didn’t know exactly what dress I would be wearing for the event these colourful shoes were a risky choice but now that I’d seen them I couldn’t possibly leave them behind. So they were ordered too and I started to get excited about my delivery arriving. One of these pairs of shoes would be the magical ‘Cinderalla’ heels that would take me to the ball – and back home again – in comfort. Eee!The decision didn’t get any easier when the shoes arrived though – they were all gorgeous and, as expected, we’re all comfortable and fit like a glove. I’d like to say that one pair jumped out at me straight away and that was my decision made, but no. I tried them. I ummed and ahhed. I posed in front of the mirror. What’s a girl to do? I can’t wear all three pairs at once! The decision became a little easier when decided on a dress from Boden (photos to come later this week, don’t you worry about that!) and could see that the silver shoes weren’t the best colour combination because they didn’t really work with the icy grey hues in my dress. But what could be done about the other two pairs? Both worked with the dress and both were shoes that I could easily wear with other outfits in the future. The nude shoes we’re ideal vintage-inspired dancing shoes, with a pretty detail around the top that made them look really classy. Yet those pink shoes were my dream shoes. So can you guess which pair I chose? Yep, it’s the pink ones! I couldn’t not wear a pair that I loved, could I?? It’s such a special occasion and I feel like a princess in them, so I’m going to wear them no matter what! Here’s the link to the Antoinette Heels on the Hotter website if you’d like to snaffle a pair for yourselves. They’re currently on special offer so they’re a thrifty choice too, hurrah! Let me know what you think about my final choice for this event by tweeting me @Cassiefairy and leave me a comment to tell me if you’re a fan of Hotter too!

Oh I agree Laura, these shoes are so comfy – I want them in all colours! 😉
I love Hotter shoes too… in fact I’ve got these but in ivory and had the comfiest feet ever during a wedding last year which is a first for me! I LOVE the pink version though, great choice.
