I had a few exciting pieces of news over the Christmas period and this is the first chance I’ve had to share them with you. Here’s what I’ve been up to since the Christmas holidays started…
A magazine dropped through my letterbox in December and I was delighted to find one of my projects amongst the pages. I’d totally forgotten that I’d shared my DIY Christmas chair with Joulu magazine back in the summer, in preparation for their Christmas edition. So, you can imagine the ‘ahhhh, now I remember’ moment when I reached the page that featured the photo of my upcycle.
The magazine is based in Finland so all the articles are written in Finnish. I don’t really understand much of the content so it’s lucky that many of the projects have step-by-step photos so I can follow along with some of the festive makes. I’m so happy to be included in this gorgeous Christmas publication and now I feel very cool knowing that my project has passed the Scandinavian test for festiveness!
I also won a competition in December – the Christmas Stocking Stylist Challenge – wooo! The competition was hosted by Rex London and I jumped around a bit when I found out that I’d won! They interviewed me about all things festive and the post has been published on the Rex London blog here if you fancy learning a little more about me.
It was an exciting moment when Reclaim magazine arrived this month as I’ve not only written the Design Icon column featuring G Plan cocktail cabinets (have a read of my retro cocktail cabinet styling blog post for some behind the scenes photos!) I also wrote an interiors feature on writer Janice Issitt’s gorgeous Suffolk home and her beautifully styled Airbnb rooms.
Plus, I was excited to discover that a courses & workshops feature I had researched had been turned into an entire supplement! So if you’re interested in learning a new skill to advance your home renovation or furniture reclamation project in 2019, have a read of this handy supplement!
If you didn’t spot my blog post last week, I’ve already had some more exciting news this month too – I’ve made the final 10 in the international award for Most Creative Art & Craft Blog! I’m so excited to be shortlisted and I’d love it if you could vote for me to win here. You don’t need to enter any info to vote, it’s a simple click on the button below my photo (I’m the last pic so scroll down to find me!) – thanks SO much!
