Juicy recipes for amazing hair

Some people are born with naturally shiny, healthy hair. They can wake up in the morning and spend minimal time trying to tame their mane, and don’t have to fork out lots of money to buy numerous products to make it more manageable. Unfortunately, not everyone is this lucky in the hair department. For many of us, it takes what feels like a 15 hour battle with the straighteners before we feel confident enough to step out in public, but don’t worry, help is on the way in the form of a nutritious smoothie!

It’s easy to fall back on a variety of different products to tame frizzy hair, add volume or more simply, to help make it do what we want it to do. However, your diet can also have a massive effect when it comes to managing your locks. The nutrients from the food you eat not only help to keep your body healthy, but are also transferred into your hair. Eating the wrong types of food can cause bad hair days to occur, making it feel less shiny and strong. One of the best ways to get the right nutrients for your hair is through drinking smoothies. There are so many different recipes out there that can help improve the health of your hair, but here is my favourite recipe which you should try this year!

INGREDIENTS 1 ½ table spoons of non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt, 1 cup of spinach, ½ cup of blueberries, ½ cup of mango, 1 whole kiwi, ¼ cup of kidney beans, small handful of walnuts, ¾ cup of cold water and a handful of ice.

Blitz up all the ingredients until smooth and enjoy as a nutritious breakfast treat or a lunchtime snack. This smoothie tastes great, contains around 400 calories, is packed full of protein and biotin and makes around one serving. It might sound weird including kidney beans and spinach, but you can’t taste them as the fruit overpowers these flavours. The other ingredients such as the non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt and blueberries will help to moisturise your scalp and also encourage growth. Not only this, but blueberries are a superfood which pack a powerful nutritional punch for your body. Pretty good for just one smoothie, huh?john frieda giveaway competition prize on cassiefairy blog I’d also love to give your hair a helping hand with some products too so I’ve teamed up with John Frieda to run a healthy-hair giveaway. 1. Love drinking smoothies and green juice! It’s the best for not only nutrition, but it clears up most skin and hair issues. The best bonus!
