Personalised gift idea for the big ‘I do’

Do you remember just before Christmas I shared a sneak peek at a personalised present with you? Well that was actually for my husband and now that he has safely received it (and read it cover-to-cover!), I want to report back to you about it. I made him his very own copy of his life story with the help of The Book Of Everyone and when it arrived I was super-excited to give it to him. Thankfully, he stayed away from my blog throughout the month of December so was suitably surprised when I handed him a book that was all about him. The concept of The Book of Everyone is fantastic; it’s a personalised journal of anyone’s life – you just type in their name and date of birth and the Book of Everyone software will generate the pages for you, based on facts and trivia from the year and day they were born – it can even tell you what number person you were on the planet at the time you were born – amazing stuff.

It blows my mind to think about just how many facts about different dates that the Book of Everyone has in its archives if it is able to generate a book for anyone of any age. Not only is it clever in finding out facts and figures, it is also creatively put together and really interesting. I can read it for hours without getting bored, and it’s not even about me!   So when my best friends invited me to their wedding earlier this month, I knew exactly what I wanted to get for them. I logged onto The Book of Everyone website expecting to buy two books but no – there is actually a Book of Everyone Wedding Book – I couldn’t believe my luck! It works in a similar way to the original Book of Everyone but this is a book of two halves: the bride and groom. The book is packed full of facts about the bride in one half and meets the groom’s half in the middle, where the book flips over and becomes all about the groom. It’s still a completely personalised book but for two people rather than just one. I entered the details of the bride and groom, including their dates of birth (which I had to look up on Facebook to make sure I got the right year!) and within seconds the book generated into life. As you go through the process of creating the book there are plenty of pages that can be personalised where you can add your own messages and photos. More pages are personalised with nicknames, backgrounds, images and the bride and groom’s favourite things. Again, I found myself reading through the facts – including plenty of trivia about weddings and quotes on love – and I found each page really interesting so I hope they do too! When the book arrived I was super-chuffed with the quality and had a quick flick through (being careful not to mess up the pages) before wrapping it up in my prettiest rose wrapping paper and chiffon ribbon to coordinate with the wedding theme. I hope they enjoy reading it when they come back from honeymoon!
