I first chatted with interior designer Kerry Knight when I was writing for Reloved magazine in 2018. I was lucky enough to learn all about her cottage renovation in rural Cornwall and the resulting article even made the cover of the magazine!
I’ve kept in touch with Kerry since then and I’m always impressed by her creativity and interior decor choices. She certainly has a way of creating cosy farmhouse-style interiors that look contemporary yet suit the period of the building.
So, it comes as no surprise that Kerry has been working with other homeowners to create gorgeous interiors around the country – each with their own unique style and little pops of playful colour. Check out her website BeatenGreen.co.uk to be inspired by some of her other decor projects.
It’s those quirky pieces and injections of colour that I enjoy most about Kerry’s interiors. It makes me feel like I can spruce up any old item of furniture and give it a new life with a coat of vibrant paint.
This is also what makes the homes she designs so child-friendly. She pours as much attention into the children’s rooms as she does to the master bedrooms. It’s easy to overlook kids’ spaces when they need to be practical enough to contain all the youngsters’ toys etc. but Kerry has made the children’s rooms equally stylish and inviting.
In fact, the whole house has a really family-friendly vibe, from the cosy snuggle-up sofa in the living room to the mismatched chairs around the farmhouse table in the kitchen. Fun stripes and vibrant colours run throughout the rooms to tie the whole look together.
