New year’s resolutions – broken already??

I can’t believe it. I’ve broken one of my new year’s resolutions already. On the 3rd of January – now that has to be some kind of record.

Remember when Bridget Jones declares her new year’s resolutions to Mark Darcy on new year’s day? “New Year’s resolution – drink less. Oh and quit smoking” while holding a glass of bubbly in one hand and a lit cigarette in the other “Oops! And keep new year’s resolutions!”.

Well, I feel a bit like that today because my top, number 1 new year’s resolution was to write a blog post every day this year and yesterday I completely forgot all about it! The 3rd of January must have been the only day in over a year that I haven’t blogged, and sometimes I even blog twice a day, but no sooner than I publicly declare my intentions to blog daily, I go and mess it up!

I’m not going to make any excuses about being too busy or out all day. I simply didn’t think about it while enjoying the last couple of days off with my husband before work starts again in earnest on Monday. So instead of feeling bad about it and giving up, I’m going to shift the start of my new year to Monday 6th Jan when the world goes back to work and back to normal and I’m going to keep my resolutions from then onwards. Honestly.

How about you? What are your resolutions? Have you broken any in a more record-breaking time than I have?? I can’t be the only one can I?!
