If you fancy personalising your mobile phone by creating a case with a Christmasy vibe, look no further than this quick and easy star phone case project. I’ve shared a step-by-step DIY video to help you craft this cute festive-inspired case in no time…
I wanted to Christmassify my phone for December and what better way to do this than with self-adhesive vinyl? I recently shared a DIY project to personalise a refurbished smartphone with text designs and it inspired this festive project.
You can make this star-print case for ANY phone – all you need is a clear case that fits your phone and you can start personalising it. I chose to use metallic gold vinyl for my stars but you could go for any colour you like to coordinate with your phone.
YOU WILL NEED:
- Self-adhesive vinyl
- Clear phone case
- Cutting machine
- Or a cutting mat and craft knife
As you can easily peel off the sticky vinyl it’s kind of like decorating your phone for Christmas. You could create a snow-storm with white snowflakes (like I did for my DIY baubles project) or you could add multicoloured metallic disks for a New Year’s Eve confetti effect. When January comes you can take off the stars, snowflakes or confetti and start again with a new design – maybe flowers for Spring?
Here’s the step-by-step video from my YouTube channel @Cassiefairy so you can watch how to do the whole project from start to finish:
What do you think of this technique? Will you have a go at decorating your phone case for Christmas? Let me know in the comments below what design you’re going to make and please tag me in your project photos on Instagram @cassiefairy – I’d love to see what you’ve made!
