One of the best things about blogging is that sometimes I will get a message from someone who has read my blog and was inspired by one of my projects. Even better is when a reader sends me a photo of their own DIY creation – and it’s often so much more slick than mine! Today I’ve put together a round-up of some of the wonderful creations that you lovely folk have sent me – aren’t these fab?!
PALLET BIN STORE
If you’ve read any of my DIYs you’ll knowhow much I enjoy using pallet wood to DIY things I need for the garden. So when I needed a bin store to tidy up my wheelie bins, of course I started dismantling a pallet. You can see more of my upcycled pallet bin store project here and that’s exactly what Sandra @sarniel66 did before tackling her own bin store project. She tells me that all the wood and felt was recycled so the total cost of the project was £3 for the felt tacks – amazing!
BUREAU BAR
I’m sometimes tagged in fellow maker’s projects on Instagram and I love to see the photos. Often, my blog post has provided just a twinkle of an idea and they’ve run with it – like this bureau bar by @sitting_comfortably. If you’ve tried out one of my upcycling projects, I’d love to see it so please tag me in your photos @Cassiefairy on Instagram. If you’re interested to find out how I upcycled my own writing desk (£5 from a charity shop about 10 years ago!) here’s the bureau bar DIY post.
PALLET BAR
One of my most popular pallet projects EVER was my outdoor pallet bar – I’ve even revamped my own project myself to turn it into a plant bar for my seedlings! I’ve had quite a few people tell me that they’ve made the project and it makes me so pleased. It was even featured on Love It or List It on channel 4 – which blew my mind!
I can just imagine all the DIY pallet bars adorning patios up and down the country and it’s fantastic when someone sends me a photo of their finished bar. Isn’t this one by Instagrammer @Jillerose SO much better than mine? I love the Spanish holiday vibes – perfect for a staycation this summer!
And this incredible light-up “Rafiki’s Bar” is an epic build by @in_it_for_the_story_interiors. I always enjoy Natalie’s interior decor posts on Instagram so when she thanked me for the inspiration for her amazing pallet bar project, I was extra-excited to see how it turned out. And look how fabulous it is -it even has a rack for hanging glasses – so cool!
I would love to hear if you’ve had a go at making any of my DIY projects so please get in touch and let me know how you’ve got on. Also, it would be wonderful to see your photos so feel free to email me or tag me @cassiefairy in your pics on Instagram. 🙂
And one more bit of excellent news – my pallet bar was recently featured in The Times! Here’s my instagram post with a little video about the article – so exciting 🙂
