Garden activities
If the weather is good this weekend, it’s a lovely idea to get out in the garden and enjoy the fresh Spring air. I’ve got a couple of ideas for child-friendly gardening activities, including upcycling broken, leaky wellies into planters for seasonal flowers.

I’ve also shared a lovely short video about decorating old bird boxes – be sure to watch it to the end to see a cute feathery visitor! – and the blog post also tells you where to hang your bird box to attract different species of garden birds.

Chocolate bakes for Easter lunch
If, like me, you’re a fan of all things chocolatey, you’re going to love these Easter-themed recipes!
I’ve shared not one but TWO cheesecake recipes – the first is a super-easy no-bake giant creme egg cheesecake, which can be easily whipped up by kids of all ages. The second is a stunning baked vanilla cheesecake covered in oozing chocolate ganache (pictured up above). This is probably my favourite if I had to choose. 😉

An oldie but a goodie is this gorgeous chocolate fudge cake recipe that children can help decorate with mini eggs or any other Easter-themed treats. The same recipe also includes instructions for making Easter-themed iced sugar biscuits, so be sure to check it out!

Of course, there’s always the option of making little chocolate cornflake cake ‘nests’ with the tiniest of children. My niece and nephew helped me make a batch for Easter when they were toddlers and were easily able to join in the baking fun!
Creative crafting
Whether you’ve got little ones at home during the Easter holidays or if you just enjoy getting creative yourself, here are some ideas for fun seasonal crafts, including making an Easter bunny wreath and pressing Spring flowers to decoupage eggshells.
Each project gives you the chance to sit down and relax while enjoying an arty activity – perfect!

I hope these ideas have given you some inspiration for activities, crafts and bakes to make ahead of this coming weekend. Whatever you get up to, I hope you have a lovely Easter and get to enjoy a relaxing break over the long bank holiday weekend.
Stay thrifty!
