Today is my mum’s birthday – happy birthday Mummyfairy! Here’s me and my lovely mum enjoying her garden last week:
So I’ve had a fun day of baking, food making and present wrapping! Here’s a pic of the birthday cake I made for mum, featuring royal icing versions of our pet cats Cookie, Muffin, Merlin and Faith. It took around 6 hours of moulding, painting with food colouring and icing – and that’s before the cake was even baked! phew!
We had a lovely tea-party lunch in the garden with small sandwiches and mum’s favourite walnut cakes! After lunch we nipped out to the local chicken farmer and mum bought 3 new bantams using her birthday money from my brothers and sister; a silverlace sebright, a black polish and a buff lace sebright. No names chosen yet, so watch this space! Bridget and Henrietta the original bantams came over to check out the newbies and seemed to approve!
I’ve taken a few mins out to do this blog post and now need to get back to preparations for a birthday BBQ this evening – I hope mum enjoys herself and massive birthday love to her on her Beatles birthday! xxx
