If you want inspiration for a cosy home that can easily take you from winter into spring, look no further. Amy from Cuter Tudor has kindly allowed me to share some photos of her beautifully styled home to provide all the design inspo you need for an interior that transitions through the seasons.

I was lucky enough to interview Amy for Reloved magazine a couple of years ago and I’ve admired her home ever since. She regularly posts updates on her blog Cuter Tudor, including frugal DIYs and seasonal styling tips, which is where I head for insteriors inspiration most months.

There’s no better time to make a change to your interior than after Christmas, is there? Once you’ve put away all the festive decor and taken down the Christmas tree, you’re left with a relatively empty room that feels much more spacious. A bit of a blank canvas – how exciting!

So, what can you do to keep your home feeling cosy and welcoming (it IS still winter, after all) but that also looks forward to the coming spring? Well, I think that Amy has got it just right with the colours and styling of her Texan home.

The fresh blue colours that Amy has chosen for her home work beautifully. The rooms feel airy and fresh, with a nod to frosty winter days, while also mirroring the crisp blue skies of spring.

Cool blues are kept cosy with layers of texture, such as chunky knit blankets, cosy cushions and lots of rustic wood. Old pieces with plenty of history are left in their original condition, completed with chipped paint and faded colours.

As you can see from Amy’s interior, there’s no need to pack away all your Christmas wreaths and faux garlands just because the celebrations are over. Simply de-christmassify the faux foliage by removing baubles and berries and use it to adorn your mantelpiece, shelves or sideboard.

You can use a combination of faux foliage and real stems cut from your garden. By bringing in whatever is currently growing outside, you’re guaranteed to create a floral display that looks truly seasonal.

Blue walls look stunning in spring and summer but, if you feel like the blue walls might seem a little too cold in the winter, you can break up the colour by adding a gallery wall of family photos, artwork and wooden textures, just like Amy has done below.

While it’s still winter, you’ll want to keep your home feeling cosy while with lovely warm-white lighting in the rooms. Amy’s chandelier reflects the light from the bulbs, bringing even more brightness into the room. Add lamps on side tables for a warm glow in the evenings or add floor lamps behind sofas to provide task lighting.

Just because Christmas is over, it doesn’t mean you can’t make every family meal into a special occasion. Bring out your favourite crockery for Sunday lunch and look forward to some lovely family time on the weekends.

What do you think of Amy’s beautiful wintery interior? Will you bring some seasonal elements in your home this year? Let me know in the comments below and huge thanks to Amy for allowing me to share these photos of her lovely home with you.
